The 137th winner of the 'New 2000 Guineas Stakes', held on Wednesday 9th May 1945 over the Bunbury Mile of the July Course, was Court Martial (13/2), a chestnut colt by Fair Trial out of Instantaneous, owned by the 2nd Viscount Astor. The winner won by a head in 1 minute 40.80 secs, with 2 lengths back to the third. A field of 20 runners contested the race which was worth £7500 (Equivalent to £306,000 in 2017)
